Discounted membership fees and educational materials for indigent regions
A special offer from ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association-European Dialysis and Transplant Association) and HINARI (Health InterNetwork Access to Research Initiative) supports access to relevant information for healthcare professionals from developing countries.
The ERA-EDTA has extended its collaborations to those living in developing countries. The special discounted membership fees are an entitlement to members living in countries around the world whose Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita income is less than USD $10,000 annually, according to the 2011 data of the International Monetary Fund, World Economic Outlook Database 2012.1
ERA-EDTA is also engaged in supporting the continual professional development of medical professionals living in such areas. This has been possible thanks to the HINARI Programme which provides healthcare professionals access to an extensive collection of biomedical and health literature. The HINARI Programme is a collaboration between the World Health Organization (WHO) and major publishers aiming to improve world health by benefiting health workers and researchers.2
