On the 29th and 30th of March, Fresenius Medical Care Malaysia participated in a kidney disease awareness drive in support of World Kidney Day 2013. According to the Malaysia Clinical Practice Guideline on Hypertension, every second person over the age of 30 is suffering from high blood pressure in Malaysia. High blood pressure is one of the main reasons for kidney disease.

World Kidney Day's (WKD) aim is to raise awareness of the importance of the kidneys to the overall health of the population and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide. WKD is a joint initiative of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF).
